The ICT Association of Uganda is a multi-stakeholder initiative formed by private individuals from Uganda, with the vision of providing professional guidance to individuals and organizations in the private sector, as well as offering advisory services to government on policy-based issues.

Government of Uganda has implemented policies and programmes aimed at improving her economic competitiveness. Competitiveness is an important component for and an indicator of economic growth. The second National Development Plan (NDP II) has recognized competitiveness as an important cross-cutting issue that traverses most of the key economic sectors including tourism, agroculture, infrastructure and trade and social development.

Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) IS Uganda's apex body for the private sector. It is made up of over 200 business associations, corporate bodies ad the major public sector agencies that support private sector growth. PSFU has served as a focal point for private sector advocacy as well as capacity building and continues to sustain a positive policy dialogue with Government on behalf of the private sector and has been Government's implementation parner for several projects and programmes aimed at strengthening the private as an engine of economic growth.

As an Investment Promotion Agency, UIA mainly: markets investment opportunities; promotes packaged investment projects; ensures local and foreign investors have access to information, especially about the business environment so as to make more informed business decisions; and offers business support, advisory and advocacy services.
