NITA Uganda Donates Shs530M Worth Equipment to BPO Firms

The National Information Technology Authority of Uganda (NITA-U) has donated equipment worth 530 million UGX to three private Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms operating outside the Government BPO incubation centre.

The firms which include MUNU Technologies, Cayman Consults and BDE Consults have received Computers, Desk telephone sets, Filling cabinets, Agent workstations and chairs among others.

According to NITA-U officials, Munu Technologies shall also receive internet bandwidth of 10Mbps per month for a period of one year.

The Government of Uganda identified the ITES/BPO sector as a priority area to stimulate economic growth through creation of jobs for the youth and generation of revenue for the Government.
